Just over 30 years ago Pierre-Francois' parents
found what they thought would make the perfect
base for a camping and caravan site....a medieval
farmhouse with outbuildings, next to the Dourbie
River with land on the spectacular valleyside.
Today we offer you the opportunity of enjoying
the breathtaking scenery that surrounds us, as
the piches are arranged on terraces looking down
the valley and over to the cliff like tops of the
gorge. Certain pitches have the privilege of a view
across to Cantobre village perched on it's rocky
promontory. The farm buildings now house many
of the facilities....they're certainly not lacking in
character.....the oldest wall dates back to the 11th
century ! !
From the moment you cross the bridge over the
Dourbie and enter our reception we will do our
best to look after you until you have to leave us.
On arrival you'll be presented with a folder full of
information about the site and the region. We'll
then accompany you to your accommodation or
pitch. Every morning you can opt for the luxury of
having freshly baked bread and croissants
delivered to your doorstep. Cleaniliness of our
toilets and showers is extremely important for us
as we know clean facilities are high on the list of
priorities for most campers/caravanners....our
staff are on the spot in the washblocks practically
all day to ensure the facilities are up to your
expectations. To keep you occupied and
entertained, we have a varied events programme
all season adapted to the visitors at any one
time...but we also make sure those just wanting to
relax are also respected
Mentioned as early as the 12th century, the fief of Vellas was a hideout for forgers in the 15th century. It is thus easy to understand that the architecture of the premises seems to feature an incredible number of hiding-places, which are all now nicely set off for the different facilities of the campsite. Caravan Site
The caravan site is set in 10acres of peaceful rolling countryside
Following many years of caravanning experience through France and England and having belong to the caravan club for many years we would like to welcome you to our campsite.
There are 50 emplacements several with water and 10amp electricity, clean washing facilities with free running hot water to showers and sinks including washing up facilities and a WC chemical emptying.
The campsite is extremely peaceful and very welcoming and friendly. There is also a wide variety of local attractions close by including some very beautiful lakes for swimming with man mad beaches. Please see attractions.
A swimming pool to serve the campsite is planned for the near future along with a small shop with useful provisions. The pool conforms to AFNOR NFP90 306
Fresh eggs are for sale on site.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead and cleaned up after please.
A washing machine is also available at a small fee.

Storage facilities for caravans, trailer tents or anything offered at LaBlanchie.
Storage has proved to be extremely popular here. Just think of all the extra money that can be saved on ferry crossings and fuel, let alone all the stress and hassle. Our farmhouse / gite sleeps 14 in total and can be separated into two individual properties if required as there are two front doors and communicating doors inside. The gite part sleeps 4 and comprises of lounge / kitchenette are one bedroom and a shower room The lounge are has a double sofa bed, a table and 4 chairs and a fully equipped kitchen with appliances. The bedroom has twin single beds and the shower room has a WC shower and sink. All bed linen, towels and tea towels are included in the price, although outside towels are not. If a change of bed linen is required a small charge per bed is made.
The Farmhouse
The farmhouse consists of a lounge area with double sofa bed a separate fully equipped kitchen with appliances including a washing machine hall downstairs one with a king size bed one with bunk beds and the last with twin single beds. There is also a bath / shower WC and wash basin with a seperate WC, 2 in total. There is a large garden with the use of patio tables, chairs, sun beds and BBQ.
Cottage
Our cottage sleeps four and consists of a lounge with double sofa bed fully equipped kitchen including a washing machine a bedroom with twin single beds a shower room. This property also benefits from the fact that it has a back door leading onto a small garden where you will find a patio table and BBQ.
All the properties have patio tables, chairs and BBQ. There are also some sun beds. Bed linen and towels and tea towels are included in the price. Outside towels are not provided. If a change of bed linen is required a small charge per bed is made. You will find the properties are left for you in a clean a tidy manner. Beds will be prepared for you according to the size of your party, however no maid service is provided during the rental period and if a change of linen is required the renter not the owner is permitted to do this.
The swimming pool is shared by the properties.
Cottage £400.00 per week
Farmhouse normally works out to be £100.00 per person but this needs to be checked as it can vary on the size of the party.
